Elementary Watson!

So we were doing research looking at Billy Wilder and then the new Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Homes: A Game of Shadows caught our eye.  It will be hitting theatres on December 16, 2011.  Brace yourselves for the impact!

Getting back to the research…Take a look at the trailer for The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes.  You can see how much info and detail was carried over into Guy Ritchie's reboot version.  The trailer itself has a full narrative and you really notice an emotional change from the beginning of it to the end.  Something unusual compared to the sweaping trailers of today, so packed with fast-paced images.  We agree that trailer-making is an art in itself and they do target different audiences; enticing the ladies to go see an action movie, or the men to go see a romantic comedy.  But nevertheless, there are trailers that are memorable.  Like the trailer for The Shining, or the Rango trailer, or The Incredibles trailer.

And of course… the poster was illustrated by Robert McGinnis who also did the posters for Breakfast at Tiffany's and Barbarella
